Privacy Policy

Last updated October 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Stephen Mykytyn (“we,” “us,” or “our”), who publishes apps and a website under the name 359 North, handles information in our iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and macOS apps (the “Apps”) and on our website, 359north.com (the “Website”).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

This policy does not apply to Apple’s App Store or to any other third-party service you use to download our Apps or pay for them. Those services have their own privacy policies.

Information We Collect

Information Stored on Your Device

Our Apps store the data you create on your device. We do not receive it.

Information in Your iCloud Account

If an App offers to sync your data between your devices using Apple’s iCloud, that data is stored in your own iCloud account and is governed by your agreement with Apple. We cannot read the contents of your private iCloud data.

Permissions Your Device May Ask For

An App may ask for permission to use certain features of your device, only to provide the features you choose to use:

You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.

Crash Reports and Diagnostics

Our Apps use Firebase Crashlytics, a crash reporting service provided by Google, to find and fix crashes and stability problems. When an App crashes, Crashlytics collects a crash report that may include the type of device, operating system version, App version, the state of the App and device at the time of the crash (such as memory and storage use), and a randomly generated installation identifier. We do not use Firebase Analytics, and we do not use this information for advertising or to identify you. Google processes this data on our behalf under Firebase’s privacy and security terms. We also receive crash and usage reports from Apple through App Store Connect if you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers in your device settings.

App Launch Counts

Each time an App is launched, we add one to a shared counter. There is one counter for each combination of the App’s identifier, version number, and build number, your device’s language and region settings (locale), your time zone, and your device model (for example, “iPhone 14 Pro”). We use these counts only to understand which Apps, versions, device models, and regions are in use, so we can decide what to support and improve. The counts are stored in Apple’s CloudKit public database, which we operate through our developer account.

This information is used in aggregate. It does not include your name, email address, contacts, or any content you create in the App, and it is not combined with any other information, such as crash reports. We do not use it to identify you or to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Because these counts are not tied to individual users, there is no per-user setting to turn them off.

Information You Send Us

If you email us for support or send feedback, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to respond to you and to improve our Apps.

The Website

The Website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are visited. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build profiles of individual visitors. It collects limited technical information, such as the page visited, the referring page, your browser type, and your approximate country. Our Website is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep server logs, including IP addresses, as described in GitHub’s privacy statement.

How We Use Information

Sharing Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers described above (Google for crash reporting, Cloudflare for Website analytics, and GitHub for Website hosting), who process it on our behalf, and in these limited cases:

Third-Party Links and Content

Some Apps may display third-party web pages, such as Wikipedia, or let you share content through services you choose, such as Messages, email, or social media. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep the information we receive, such as support emails, only as long as needed to respond to you and for legitimate business purposes, and then delete it. Data stored on your device or in your iCloud account is under your control: you can delete it in the App or by deleting the App. To ask us to delete anything we hold about you, email us at the address below.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we handle. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

Our Apps and Website are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, and to object to or limit certain uses of it. This includes residents of California, which gives you rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other regions with similar laws. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Stephen Mykytyn is the controller of any personal data described in this policy. Where data protection law applies, we process information because it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving our Apps and Website, or because you have asked us to respond to a request. The aggregate launch counts described above do not identify you. Information processed by our service providers, such as crash reports handled by Google, may be transferred to and stored in the United States and other countries. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the Apps or on the Website. Your continued use of the Apps or Website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
